IT IS MY BIRTHDAY

The day has finally arrived. So far I have had two birthday cakes - an ice-cream cake with my face on it that was made for a pre-birthday function; and an amazing M&M and Kit Kat cake that Amy, her mom and sister made me for today.

Not even the Fourways traffic managed to spoil my wonderful mood and with this birthday wish from Jane I know that it is going to be a great day: Make a wish. Blow out the candles. Remember : not older, better. Indulge in your favourite dessert. Enjoy the company of family and friends. Treasure funny memories. Be enormously happy. Recognise that today is special …
…. just because you are.

One person who knows how special I am is my good friend Candice, who wrote this on my Facebook wall: "Marty, love! Have a gorgeous day! I assume there will be celebratory parades around the world to mark your birth, I will join the UK party. May you be surrounded by confetti, streamers and champagne today. Hope it's smashing. Heart you very much my Lovebug. Biggest hugs and kisses." I know that today is going to be a great one!

I think that I am going to enjoy being 27 - Mart

UPDATE: Andrea clearly adds her interpretation to what I write here and she thinks that I am raving about the M&M cake more than the ice-cream one so to keep the peace, let me tell you that latter cake was also very special and dear to me and the fact that she had to schlep it around in a cooler bag until we got to Zebula was also really appreciated.
