EMMA MY MANEKI NEKO

How does one describe Emma Gernetzky? Would you mention her long blonde hair, her great sense of style, her humour, her vast knowledge of IT, her love for her bird, her ability to make the most amazing butternut soup, her fascination with bondage or would you just concentrate on how great a friend she is? Emma Gernetzky simply put is AHSUM.

Last year, Emma decided to leave me and go teach English in Japan. She is currently back in SA visiting her friends and family and yesterday I met her at my favourite coffee shop, Lulu's. It was great catching up with but the best part was the various flavoured Japanese kit-kats (there was an aloe flavour) and my Maneki Neko* key ring that she gave me. - Martin

What is Maneki Neko
Maneki Neko are cat-shaped lucky charms. Maneki means beckoning and neko means cats in Japanese. A Maneki Neko raises one of its front paws and beckons by showing the palm of the paw. It's said that manekineko raising the left hand beckons customers and one raising the right hand beckons money.
