MANLY MONDAYS

On Sunday the decision to go back to gym was made - a decision that was made every week, but of course each time it was a flawed one as I convinced myself that next week would be far better to start again. Since the days are getting warmer, my usual excuse, "But it is too cold to go" was no longer valid and Garth's threats getting a tad bit too realistic for me, Old Eds (my gym) was going to be greeted by me once again! And this time I was not going to swim, but to do weights.

On Monday morning, the alarm buzzed, I opened an eye, thought why am I doing this, an image of a pitch wheeling Garth flashed before my one-opened eye, got my wearing bones out of my comfy bed and got ready to make my Spring debut at gym. On my way there I got a call from Garth who had a problem - his car battery was flat and I went to help him out. Even before my gym session started, I was pushing his car up the driveway with help from Geoff. After a quick "This is how you jump start a car" lesson from Geoff, the Mini and the Peugeot were off to Old Eds.

So after a variety of torturous weight exercises, I could feel my muscles starting to bulge and I definitely will be doing more off them, so who knows, one summer I may have a six pack! When it was time to leave, the poor Peugeot would not start again, so it was time to get my hands dirty. Garth and I popped open our bonnets, hooked the batteries to the jump leads and viola, the Peugeot had life once more.

On my way into work, I realised that I started the week on a manly Monday - Mart
