Dear Readers
After promises of updating regularly have not happened I am sure that you are disappointment with The G&M Society. So no more promises!
Being on the verge of holidays, I am not sure when I will be back here.
I hope that you did enjoy the yakkings just as much as I did bringing them to you!
Much love to you all

AND WE ARE BACK

As our loyal readers would have noticed, Garth and myself have not been regularly updating the blog and we apologise for that. It seems that the silly season has brought us a lot of work and The G&M Society has taken a back seat. This is very unfair on you so I will try and post something everyday.
Awhile back I told you that I was involved with an exciting project. I can tell you that it is a custom magazine that will be launched next year - and that is all what I can say for now. So watch this space.
Until then, come back daily for some more yakkings...

THE KINGS SPEECH

I'm a sucker for period movies, especially those with English accents and even more so, those staring Colin Firth. So what happens when an English accent of character played by Firth in a period film is accompanied by a stammer? That is the story of The King's Speech which opens November 26th.
Prince George, The Duke of York was second in line to the throne behind his brother so his stammer wouldn't really have been as big of a problem had his brother not abdicated the throne to marry Wallis Simpson. (Madonna is making a film about that story.)
After his brother abdicates, George ('Bertie') reluctantly assumes the throne as King George VI. Because his stutter has called into question his ability to rule, he and Elizabeth I engage the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue.
"Through a set of unexpected techniques, and as a result of an unlikely friendship, Bertie is able to find his voice and boldly lead the country through war." George VI and Elizabeth are the parents of reigning Queen Elizabeth II and it will be interesting to see her childhood during the war.
There are already rumors that this film will earn Colin Firth an Oscar just as The Queen earned Helen Mirren her statue. I think it's safe to say that The Academy is also a sucker for an English accent - Garth

A SUCCULENT LIFE

On Saturday, Michelle and I, ventured into Pretoria to go to Woodlands Boulevard (a shopping center) as Amy was raving about this coffee decor shop.
My mouth fell to the floor when I walked into Succulent Decor - it is a visual feast and I did not even know where to start. Michelle and I had to go back for a second helping! The shop is a must for anyone who is looking for stylish gifts that are affordable. The shop also stocks great furniture and fabrics. Next to Succulent Decor is Succulent Cafe and the menu does not disappoint. With cake names like Diet's Revenge and Thunder thighs, you know that you are in for a delicious treat - Mart
